Mental Health Counseling Intern

Luiza is currently working towards her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at the University at Buffalo. She received her bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in sociomedical sciences in 2022. Luiza is currently completing a 600-hour internship at Mindful Healing Connections as part of her counseling training. She will graduate from her current program in December 2024 and plans to continue offering counseling services at Mindful Healing Connections after graduation. 


Luiza has experience interning at Mary’s Place Refugee Outreach Center and Livingston County Mental Health office. Luiza is gaining experience working with a wide range of clients, from children to adults. Luiza has experience providing services in Spanish, working with asylum seekers, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and intergenerational trauma. Luiza aims to provide a collaborative, inclusive, non-judgmental, and safe space for all individuals to explore and heal from their trauma. Luiza is passionate about empowering people to recognize their self-love and self-worth with a trauma-informed, holistic approach.
